Alexander McQueen Dresses (with the equally amazing shoes!) from Spring 2010 RTW Collection.
First spotted in Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' MTV shortly after the collection was shown at Paris Fashion Week last year, the amazing pieces from McQueen's Spring 2010 collection have since been spotted on celebrities and one Singaporean fashionista.
Camilla Belle in a gorgeous piece which Karlie Kloss wore during the runway show. Not exactly familiar with her to be honset, I remember reading that she used to date a Jonas brother. Yup, I remember tabloid nonsense.
Daphne Guinness in another dress with the amazing jewelled neckline from the collection. She's also wearing the towering Armadillo shoe which was one of the most talked about footwear for the Spring 2010 collections. Something different though was that she styled the outfit with the huge silver metal gladiator-ish belt. I personally liked the original look without the belt more. What do you think?
Oh! Look who I spotted?? For those of you not living in Singapore, you might not be familiar with her. Dr Georgia Lee is a famous aesthetic doctor here in Singapore and also somewhat of a fashionista. Last year at the Audi Fashion Festival, she had her own show where she walked the runway with an entourage of male models. This year at the AFF, she was spotted wearing the latest designer pieces at all the major shows. Here, she is photographed at Milan Mens Fashion Week wearing a McQueen printed dress paired with leggings. Random nugget, I read somewhere that she once bought a pair of Balenciaga leggings for 10k or more? As much as I <3 Balenciaga, it's kinda crazy IMHO.
Josh Goot Speckled-Pattern Dress from Fall 2009 RTW Collection.
I've been seeing quite abit of Christine Centenera, Fashion Editor of Harper's Bazaar Australia in street style blogs. Spotted her in some Josh Goot pieces, this is just one of them. Randomly, I decided to google her name just to make sure I got the spelling correct and I came across a thread on her in tfs and found out she's actually dating Josh Goot? Very random I know. Haha..
Found this image I saved awhile back. I know it isn't exactly taken on the street, but I like the dress, I like the shoes (it's Burberry btw). This is from Grazia Australia (Dec 2009) I believe. The model is Whitney Port from The City. I like her too.
I love the Proenza Schouler PS1 bag in this outfit. It actually reminds me alittle of the Mulberry Alexa bag which I also like. Kinda coveting it but the Alexander Wang Rocco Mini Duffel (updated version of the Coco Duffel which now comes with shoulder straps!) currently remains on top of the list.
p/s: Lost my internet connection for a couple of days over the weekend but it's now fixed. Once again, thanks for the comments!=) Will get back to you guys soon!
I know alot of people avoid wearing stripes in any form but I actually do like stripes. Although it does sometimes make you look way wider than you actually are. Guess it's more of a love-hate thing going on.
This is a pretty cool dress/skirt. Some optical illusion thing going on here. I like.
Love these! The gradient-striped long (<3) skirt and mixture of vertical and diagonal striped dress puts a playful spin on normal stripes. Such fun pieces!
And of course, striped blazers, jackets and cardis! Definitely a standout piece. <3!
Do you love or hate stripes?
p/s: Thanks for all the lovely comments! I really appreciate it=)
Her jacket with the interesting sleeve cut-outs was the piece that caught my attention in this pic. Turns out, it's from Dion Lee (whom I posted about here), the emerging Aussie talent who got everyone excited with his latest collection shown at the RAFW just last month. I'm on the lookout for a well-cut fitted blazer/jacket, preferably long and with REAL pockets (not just faux pockets with flaps). Been procrastinating about sewing one for myself for the longest time. Anyway, loving maxi dresses at the moment as well. Got one from F21 maybe couple weeks back that still requires some altering to the length if I don't wish to be sweeping floors/roads or tripping over myself wherever I go. Also, I've always wanted to do the messy 'bun on top of your head' kinda look. Not much success I must say. Need slightly longer and more hair! All I can achieve now is a little messy knot=/. Well, at least I can do messy braids. Haha..
While summer is on the way for some of you, here in Singapore it's basically summer all year round. Although recently, the weather has gone back to its fickle mode, sunny one second, rainy the next. The first pic above puts me in a good mood. Super colourful setting, the digital printed swimwear, eating ice cream and chilling out with friends. Speaking of chilling out with friends, caught SATC2 with the girls last week. Plenty of laughs (Samantha's hilarious) and loved the fashion obviously. I think the cast had a change of outfits in every scene, visual fashion fest for sure.
So have you guys been shopping up a storm at the GSS? Plenty of good deals still going around so you still have time to go shopping if you haven't already. I finally visited the Actually Actually store at Purvis street (it's the sister shop of the Actually store at Seah Street) last week mainly to check out the range of Complex Geometries and Juun J's clothing line they carried. Love the CG stuff they had, as for Juun J, I saw mainly only T-shirts. The store's currently having a GSS sale as well so do check it out if you like indie labels. Have a great week ahead everyone!=)
Marc by Marc Jacobs Printed Romper from Spring 2010 RTW Collection.
I initially thought this piece was a dress and when I went to watch the runway video (3:02-3:09) to make sure, I think it's actually a romper. Correct me if I'm wrong. Love the prints and colours in this collection.
