Gimme Gimme Gimme!!!
The Great Singapore Sale (GSS) has already started to work it's magic in lots of retail stores although it's officially only suppose to start next week(?). I know I managed to get very good buys at the Topshop sale yesterday plus random stuff from F21 (no rings amazingly) and a new pair of Charles & Keith (it's really pretty)! All these when I didn't even intend to shop. Haha. Anyway, the weekend's here, so as usual, have a great weekend y'all!

TwentySevenNames S/S 2010/2011 Lookbook

Twenty-Seven Names Spring/Summer 2010/2011 Lookbook
Twelve
Photographer: Guy Coombes
Some looks from New Zealand label Twenty-Seven Names's SS2010/2011 collection that I like. Love the printed dress & jacket (1st & last pic). Also, you can never go wrong with a little black dress (LBD). As for the white dress, don't really know why I like it, I just do. The blue shirt's definitely a surprise pick since I don't normally wear alot of shirts plus blue isn't a colour I'm particularly crazy about. The little dots, length and sheerness of the shirt probably did it. You can view the complete lookbook here.

Dion Lee
There's been quite abit of coverage on the Rosemount Australian Fashion Week going around this past week. Wouldn't say I've seen alot of the collections yet, just bits and pieces here and there. I believe I first read about Dion Lee, an emerging Australian talent from one of the Australian blogs (which I unfortunately can't remember which) just last month or a couple months back. Presenting his Spring/Summer 2011 collection at the RAFW, Dion Lee definitely prove he's the one to watch considering the rave reviews he received and also the high circulation rate of his runway images among blogs (very good sign!).
Love the ink blot prints and the honeycomb laser-cut leggings.
The intricate weaving and braiding of pleated fabric, really really beautiful.
This was actually what caught my eye when I first saw images of the collection. I mean, crystal heels?? So darn amazing! And they are homegrown!! How do you grow crystals? I would love to know how.
Check out Dion's website for more of his past collections.

Review: LuShae Jewelry
Recently, I've rekindled my obssesion with rings, not that it ever went away but I'm pretty much sure the amount of rings I've purchased these couple of weeks can be classified as a rings spree. Imagine my delight when the people over at LuShae Jewelry kindly offered to send me a piece of their jewellery for a review and let me keep it after. Since I got to pick out what I wanted, of course the first thing I did was to check out the collection of rings available and wow, I honestly took quite awhile to actually pick out just ONE piece since I ended up liking quite a few of them.
Eventually I settled on the Faces of the Moon ring simply because I don't own anything like that and it'll be a great addition to my (growing) ring collection. I really like the shape and structure of the ring and how it sparkles nicely under the light.
LuShae Jewelry is an Australian based company with their production headquarters in the US where they produce and ship out orders from. The ring took about a week to arrive upon confirmation of order which I thought was relatively quick considering international orders take up to 14 working days (as stated on the website). Besides rings, the site also offers pendants, earrings and bracelets which basically covers all your accessory needs. Overall, I'm happy and satisfied with not only the ring and delivery time but also how efficient and helpful the people were. And since I'm in such a 'I Love Rings' mood, here are some of the other rings I like, which you can wear on a daily basis, to cocktail parties or simply just to spice up a boring outfit.
(L-R)(1st Row) CZ Sculpture, Nyla Contemporary Ring, Floral Cocktail Ring
(L-R)(2nd Row) Cobblestone Ring 2, Heart Charming, CZ Watch Ring (so cute!)
(L-R)(3rd Row) Matte Squares Ring, Golden Rain Drops, Royalty (not crazy about gold rings but these caught my eye)

Thanks Sarah for the beautiful ring!=)

I'm Just Gonna Go With 'What I Wore'
Shop Stylista Lace Jacket, TF Tank Top, F21 Jeans, New Look Boots, Bag from City Plaza, Rings (all F21 except gold ring)
Wore this to the Dsquared² opening show last week. Nothing really fancy considering I was among plenty of expensive stuff floating around. Saw a lady wearing this (love!) and was probably unaware that I was staring at it so much til she started shuffling her feet around. Oops. Haha. Also, I've updated the store. If you like the lace jacket I'm wearing, you can buy it here. Thanks again to M&M for helping me out with the shoot. Love you guys!
Special shout out or more like hello to the little one (Hello J!) who decided to pop out almost a month early! Congrats B! TTYS!

AFF 2010 (Day 4&5): House Of Holland & Roberto Cavalli
*Long post ahead. Unforgettable experience, must write in detail. Haha.
Last year, it was major disappointment when I missed the opportunity to see both Gareth Pugh in person and his collection at the AFF 2009 due to a reshuffling of schedules. Guess what? This year, the AMAZING experience and crazy fashion moments totally made up for it. Seeing the Caten twins, Carmen Kass and Tokio Hotel during the opening Dsquared² show was just the start of more exciting encounters during the festival.

This year, the AMAZING experience and crazy fashion moments totally made up for it. Seeing the Caten twins, Carmen Kass and Tokio Hotel during the opening Dsquared² show was just the start of more exciting encounters during the festival.
House Of Holland
Probably one of the most fun shows of AFF. The music was really good, models were dancing backstage before they took their turn on the runway. I really liked the furry-ish bag which came in the shape of the HOH logo (forgot to take a pic of it!). Very cute!
The Charlotte Olympia platform wedge shoe for the HOH show was pretty cool and really high. The models towered way above us all after putting them on. Check out the other variations of the shoe here. And now for the exciting part!
Henry Holland in da house yo! Haha. He was standing there doing a quick photocall for some backstage photographers so of course I swiftly snapped a pic in the process and since I didn't get a photo WITH him, will make do with one OF him. Haha. Don't judge. And that was just part one. Recognise the other person in the pic above? Before the HH photocall, I was standing at a corner chatting with a friend and happen to turn my head towards the area where people were just hanging around and spotted who else but Bryanboy(!!) just standing there snapping photos. If you don't read fashion blogs, you probably are not familiar with Bryanboy. Famous fashion blogger, has a Marc Jacobs bag named after him, HH's new bff. Quickly grabbed my friend along and approached him for a photo. No diva airs at all, he's extremely nice and very obliging. I think he's like photo ready most of the time considering the fact that he promptly put on his Marc Jacobs sunglasses before the photo was snapped. I look like shit here btw but whateva man, I was exhausted (being up since 6am) and I blend in with the table curtains, fabulous I know.
Roberto Cavalli
Roberto Cavalli was the closing show and definite highlight of AFF. Celebrating his 40th Anniversary, the Cavalli show started off with the F/W 2010 collection, followed by a special showcase of pieces from the Cavalli archives. I think the most O.M.G moment was seeing Mr. Cavalli in the flesh. Just before the show started, he appeared backstage swamped by photographers and I swear, the room literally went into buzz overdrive. Even the models started whipping out their cameras hoping to snap a photo with the man himself. Unfortunately I didn't managed to snap a photo of Mr. Cavalli but just being in the same room with him is already enough to make it to one of my top fashion moments. Random 101, he sure is tan.
Lucky enough, I had the chance to see and touch the clothes upclose which was pretty much exciting itself. Luxe and glam were the two words that immediately came to mind when I saw the clothes upclose. The fur coat (on model third from left), not to sound weird or anything, but I seriously couldn't stop caressing it. It was SOOOOO soft, I wanted to wrap it around and just lay down. Haha.
Didn't manage to take that many photos, mostly individual pics with models which I look absolutely hideous in so am not gonna post those. Just imagine looking twice the body size and half the height of the models and you'll get my point. Besides Carmen Kass, Korean supermodel Song Kyunga (right) was the other big name to grace AFF. TBH, I'm not exactly very familiar with Song but she can speak English pretty well and like BB, is extremely nice and obliging for photos.
One of the things that most people aren't aware of or don't see is the craziness that takes place backstage during a fashion show. The Cavalli show is possibly one of the most intense backstage moments I've experienced so far. Because there was sort of the 'two shows in one show' thing going on here, models had to change their hairstyles after the first change which was when things started going crazy. It was impressive seeing how Team Cavalli (left) 'Made It Work' (in Tim Gunn's words), making snap decisions and working extremely quickly with no signs of panic. Then again, they do this like 2-3 times every year in Milan so it's probably the norm for them. The girl on the right if I'm not wrong is assistant to the Head Dresser of AFF. Unfortunately, I can't seem to recall her name, but yet again, another really nice person I met at the AFF.
Finally a decent looking pic which I took at the red carpet backdrop at the entrance of the Tents before I left. AFF this year was an unforgettable experience and it gave me some of my best fashion moments which I'll treasure forever. Totally can't wait for AFF next year! Til then, it's back to reality. Regular posting will resume soon!
*If you missed the action that went on at AFF, check out RazorTV for videos and coverage of the event. I myself missed some really good shows as well (Marchesa, alldressedup, KTZ).
