Bambi...

Bambi Northwood-Blythe @ Street Stylista
is her name.

I only came across this model a few months back when her pictures started making its rounds on fashion blogs. Bambi Northwood-Blyth is an up & coming Australian model who I think is absolutely adorable. That and the fact that she has a rather unique/memorable look, a plus in modelling. Here are some of the shots from MinkPink Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook and outtakes from No. Magazine #10 featuring Bambi.

So Cute!!! Although I prefer she do without the nose ring. Love the ring (can't really make out what it is though)!

Trivia 101: Did you know her real name is actually Stephanie?

Have a great weekend guys!!=)

I Read Magazines!

Magazines Galore @ Street Stylista

First off, this is a really random post about magazines which I bought last month and recently. Realised I bought lots of mags last month coz of the sale at Kinokuniya so decided to take a pic of some of the mags I got. If you're not into magazines, er, read the other posts below? Haha..

(Bottom Row, L-R)
1) Vivi (Taiwan) July 2010 - The Japanese edition was sold out when I went to the store so I settled for the Taiwan edition which I think is essentially a compressed but similar version to the Japanese one. The magazine is still in its wrapper, which obviously means I haven't read it yet. The Japanese edition of this mag comes out like 2 months ahead of time, just like Vogue Nippon. OMG totally backdated.

2) Vogue Nippon July 2010 - I think this is my first physical copy of Vogue Nippon.

3) Elle Girl Korea June 2010 - Was looking for Vogue Korea but I don't think they sell that in Kino. Either that or I was late again. Saw Teen Vogue Korea as well but the cover and cover story was a reprint of the issue of Teen Vogue US with Karlie Kloss which I already saw before. Plus it was kinda wordy. And I don't read Korean. Elle Girl was way more eye-catching.

4) Elle Singapore August 2010 - Picked this up at the supermarket yesterday.

(Top row, L-R)
5) Vogue Italia December 2009 - This was the tweetpic-themed issue photographed by Steven Meisel. Saw a copy at Bras Brasah at less than half e price so decided to get it, although I've already seen most of the editorials in that issue (It is an old issue after all).

6) Industrie #1 - Anna Wintour as the covergirl. Did a quick browse through at Kino, looked really interesting with many interviews with influential people in fashion. Always interesting to read what goes on in the mind of those people. When I saw this at Kino, I was kinda surprised. Actually, I was surprised in general at the huge range of fashion mags they stock in store besides the usuals. Although it might be coz previously I hardly noticed the section which stocked all the indie/lesser known mags. Another unread mag. Gosh, need to read/browse faster!

7) Russh June/July 2010 - I've only came across this Aussie magazine recently when I saw editorials from the mag. I couldn't find it at Kino, so I got my friend Mel to buy it for me on her trip to Australia. Just got it a couple of weeks ago and I just finished it. I don't know if it's because I'm reading this mag for the first time, but I really like it and all the write-ups inside.

This was the image that made me go WOW and promptly checked out which magazine it was from.

The complete editorial is pretty cool if you've seen it. And yes, this was from Russh.

Whew, that was such a long post. Maybe I'll do it again the next time I go on a magazine spree! Haha. For the time being, hope you guys have a happy weekend ahead!=)

I discovered something interesting while viewing this ad campaign a second time around. If you look closely, the images are linked from start to end. Kinda like a continuous story. So, I thought why not join up the images and make them into a little film-like collage. You can also view this complete ad campaign on the Hilfiger Denim website. Enjoy! The models sure look like they're having fun!

Givenchy Couture Fall 2010

Givenchy Fall 2010 Haute Couture @ Street Stylista

When I first saw the Givenchy Fall 2010 Couture collection on style.com, my first thought was "Wow, these pieces are extremely gorgeous!", now, if only there were close-up detail shots of the garments. Just by looking at the front & back views of the full body shots, I could already imagine the intricate details each individual piece would have. As luck would have it, Bryanboy posted some really amazing close-ups pics of the Givenchy pieces which had me wow-ing all over again upon seeing them.

The equally amazing back views.

Not sure how most of you feel about couture shows but haute couture is extremely exciting to me. Yes, I can't afford couture anything, but I never fail to be in awe of the intricate details and amazing amount of effort put into producing each precious piece of art. I obviously have never been to a couture show before, the closest thing I came to was when I saw a Spring 2009 piece of Christian Lacroix couture (complete with accessories & shoes) upclose at the AFF last year. Brilliantly amazing, definitely a wow moment. I distinctly remember how they had an entire Lacroix team there to dress the model in that one outfit for the AFF preview. That is how precious (and expensive of course) each piece of couture is. It's saddening to hear couture houses closing due to the diminishing returns (Christian Lacroix being one of them), but I do hope couture don't die out anytime soon because then, fashion would be much less exciting. It's always great to have something to be awe-inspired by don't you think?

When I first saw pictures of Atlanta in Fashion Canvas (The blogger Francheska is a huge fan of hers), I thought she looked kinda like Rachel Bilson. I'm liking the styling in this ed especially the accessories. Love the outfit with the bags and leopard coat, very boho-chic. And how cute is the first outfit? Bodysuit + Oversized floppy hat + Multi-coloured wedges. So summertime!

Christian Dior Couture Fall 2010

Christian Dior Fall 2010 Haute Couture @ Street Stylista

Couture week is here once again, soon enough it'll be time to play catch up with the Spring 2011 RTW collections. But first, a quick look at the Christian Dior collection, which saw a fresh burst of colours and very clearly inspired by florals seeing that many of the gorgeous dresses came in the form of petal-like details. Even the headwear styling is done in such a way that it resembles a wrapped bouquet of flowers.

Especially loving the gorgeous huge tulle dresses.

Is He Or Is She Not?

Vogue Hommes Japan #5 - Jo Calderone @ Street Stylista

Oh-em-gee, is that really Lady Gaga? Saw this on Nicola Formichetti's blog, who also happens to be Gaga's go-to stylist for her music videos and photoshoots. A collaboration with top photographer Nick Knight and SHOWstudio.com, this editorial is slated for release in the latest issue of Vogue Hommes Japan coming out in September. The model is this ed has been listed as someone by the name of Jo Calderone on Formichetti's site but it's widely rumoured that the model is question is non other then Lady Gaga herself, dressed as a boy.

Besides the profile shots, I think this image above definitely has some resemblance to Gaga. So far, there has been no confirmation as to whether the rumours are true but seems like most are pretty confident about their guesses. If it does turn out to be true, Gaga definitely succeeded in creating some sort of buzz, and of course, Formichetti once again come up tops with his styling projects.

She is pretty handsome as a boy don't you think?
