From Runway To Street 014

FRTS - Givenchy Striped Jacket @ Street Stylista
Givenchy Striped Jacket from Spring 2010 RTW Collection.

Some posts back, I asked if you guys loved or hated stripes. Some of you decided you love them, some alittle skeptical but willing to try out the jacket pieces. I really like how the stripes on the body/sleeves and lapel create some sort of illusion in this Givenchy striped jacket. This jacket is an absolute statement piece and I think is a rather good starting point for those fearful of stripes. Now, if only we could all afford this beautiful piece. Haha=)

The Cut-Outs

Dion Lee Jacket & Maxi Dress @ Street Stylista
Dion Lee Jacket & Maxi Dress @ Street Stylista
(Vanessa Jackman)

Her jacket with the interesting sleeve cut-outs was the piece that caught my attention in this pic. Turns out, it's from Dion Lee (whom I posted about here), the emerging Aussie talent who got everyone excited with his latest collection shown at the RAFW just last month. I'm on the lookout for a well-cut fitted blazer/jacket, preferably long and with REAL pockets (not just faux pockets with flaps). Been procrastinating about sewing one for myself for the longest time. Anyway, loving maxi dresses at the moment as well. Got one from F21 maybe couple weeks back that still requires some altering to the length if I don't wish to be sweeping floors/roads or tripping over myself wherever I go. Also, I've always wanted to do the messy 'bun on top of your head' kinda look. Not much success I must say. Need slightly longer and more hair! All I can achieve now is a little messy knot=/. Well, at least I can do messy braids. Haha..

London Fashion Week: Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo

If you've watched The City, you would know Olivia Palermo. I don't know how true she's being portrayed in the show since she's mostly the bitchy socialite (and I didn't really like her when I watched the show) but I've been seeing quite some photos of her lately and so far, she's been looking well-styled. This jacket of hers looks really fab and the amount of detailing is quite insane. But now that I'm looking at it again, I just realised those ruby/orange stones looks kinda like tomatoes? Haha. Ok, but still fab.
