The Accessories Question: More Is More v.s Less Is More

It did take me awhile to look through all the pieces here TBH. There's ALOT going on I must say. The colourful band on Taylor Tomasi's wrist (right) kinda reminds me of those friendship bands me and my friends used to make for each other in sec school. Those were some fun times=)

I would so wear the amount of jewellery here but I can only imagine how heavy all the pieces combined would weigh on my neck. I think 2-3 pieces is my record so far. Totally incomparable I know. The bangles on the other hand, I sometimes have to control the amount I pile on (which is quite alot), usually based on what I'm doing for that particular day.  

I guess these layered necklaces stands in between the 'more v.s less' territory? One statement accessory piece to complete the outfit. Easy & effortless.

If you're not one of those who love piling on accessories, maybe you can consider a subtle piece of jewellery instead. I LOVE.LOVE.LOVE the aeroplane bangle!!! If I did save my image info correctly, it's a Maison Martin Margiela piece which obviously means an out-of-reach price range. Sob. 

I don't wear brooches so I don't exactly appreciate them that much but this is a pretty cute spoon brooch. Looks like one of those souvenir pieces don't you think? The hand/claw-like hairclip on the right is definitely something that will make people take a second look. Very interesting piece, don't think I've seen anything similar before.

Viktor & Rolf + Dazed & Confused

Just a few posts ago, I posted the V&R-inspired piece Elva* wore during her concert in Taipei and was hoping to see pieces of the Spring 2010 collection being shot for editorials. Dazed & Confused did just that for their February issue. Quoting one of my fav song of the moment - Oh Yeah! (Mel, you got me yeah? Haha.)

Zac Posen for Target 2010 Lookbook

Zac Posen (one of my favourite designers!) is creating a collection for Target available in stores April 25th. Given that many designers have already gone the successful route of reaching out to the masses (Rodarte for Target, Jimmy Choo for H&M just to name a few), it's definitely a smart move on Posen. But of course, us mere mortals can finally afford ZP pieces which is very good news. The bad news is, we don't have Target here in Singapore. OR H&M. Sob. Do they sell the collection online?

Two of my favourite outfits of the collection. Love the lipstick tank top on the left! Will definitely buy it if I could lay my hands on one. The outfit on the right is made up of a red leather jacket, a tuxedo bodysuit and a little black skirt. Such a cute little outfit. 

Some of the dresses from the collection. Loving the dresses as well and I think the metallic gold dress & swimsuit(not shown) is so gonna be a hot favourite. And possibly the red ruffled tulle dress & the maxi floral dress.

Face Hunter Book

If you bought The Sartorialist book (I did!), look forward to another upcoming street style book courtesy of Yvan Rodic aka the Face Hunter. According to his website, the book will be available in four versions as shown above. The UK & International version (Pic 2) will probably be the one sold here in Singapore. Can't wait to buy it. The Inspired Piece

My friend, Nel took this photo when she went to watch Elva Hsiao's NYE concert in Taipei. Similar much? I thought it was done rather nicely though. Kinda liking her whole look. Elva's stylist made the outfit for her, no doubt very much inspired by the V&R piece.  I really loved Viktor & Rolf Spring 2010 collection and hope that/can't wait to see some of the pieces being shot for editorials. 

Yesterday (technically, since it's already past 12), was my lovely friend, M's ROM ceremony. Congrats babe! In short, the weather was a killer (we actually considered jumping into the pool just beside the reception area), but the food was great, oh and the groom left quite some tears among those who were present. Took some photos which I'll probably share in another post after asking for permission.

Also, I'll be away for a few days which means practically no internet access, so no new blog posts til I'm back. Have a great week ahead!=)
